See the end of the newsletter for this week’s PRODUCT OF THE WEEK.
In 1994 I teamed up with my old pal Phil Bond to produce some stories for the Tank Girl Magazine. We created a handful of strips based on Tank Girl’s marsupial boyfriend, which we cheekily named “Booga’s Shorts”. Booga starred, alongside his best mate Wheels Skidley, in tales that were apparently set before Tank Girl came along. As inspiration for the obligatory star-vehicle of the comic, I gave Phil a toy car from my Matchbox collection - the crazy-custom-car “Soopa Coopa”, we named it “The Skidmobile”. This toy has become one of the more obscure items on Tank Girl collectors’ wish lists, but is still easily found on eBay.
Here’s Booga and Wheels in “Mind Control” (1995), art by Philip Bond, script by yours truly -
This week we are starting our new PRODUCT OF THE WEEK in the OFFICIAL TANK GIRL STORE - every week we will promote a chosen item by offering it at a discounted price. This week we are knocking 20% off the original price of our TANK GIRL FAVOURITES A2 POSTER TRIPLE PACK - three huge prints plus a bonus.
This offer will remain open until next Friday, when there’ll be another nifty discount for you to consider.
Love you alls!
