Ok, he doesn’t get knighted, but he does get his own hard enamel pin badge, which is almost as good (and in some respects, better). We were so chuffed with how this one came out, he’s too cute.
Camp Koala first appeared in Tank Girl comics in 1989, in our two-part story “The Australian Job”. We were watching the Michael Caine heist movie “The Italian Job” (see what we did there?) and decided to do our own version, but with Tank Girl instead of Michael Caine, and cheap beer instead of gold. Koalas had featured in the stories before, but this time we gave one a name and brought him into the cast. In the Italian Job movie there was a character called “Camp Freddie” who works for the heist gang, so we dropped the Freddie and added a Koala, and voila - Camp Koala.
Not just Camp, but gold too! We have also made a bunch of Tank Girl logo enamel badges, these are awesome in the flesh, super-shiny, and have a bit of heft to them.
Both of these will hit THE OFFICIAL TANK GIRL STORE tomorrow at 11am BST/GMY (UK time).
And…
So many requests for more of the Deadline/Tank Girl replica door posters that we released last week, so, by some minor miracle, we’ve turned around another print run, and we’ll be listing that tomorrow as well.
That’s it for now, more TG news in a wee while
