This Town Ain't Big Enough For The Both of Us
t-shirts, metal badges, lemonade, penises, vaginas, boxsets, and shop closing dates
A whole bunch of new products have accumulated in The Official Tank Girl Store since my last newsletter, so this one is gonna be a quick, market-stall-style shout-out.
First we have our brand new t-shirt design “This Town Ain’t Big Enough for The Both of Us” based, of course, on the 1974 single of the same name by top-pop duo Sparks. Featuring an ace Jamie-drawn depiction of TG and Booga in full western clobber (has Booga pissed himself??). Organic cotton, FairWear shirts from Stanley/Stella, Fifth Column have done another bang-up job with the screen printing, really fine and crispy.
Next is our “TANK” enamel badge, based on the belt buckle worn by Tank Girl in the first few years of her comics, back in the late 1980s. We’re really happy with this one, feels like a real hefty nugget, looks great on a winter jacket!
The Lemonade Poster Magazine Special. Reading John Higgs book on Timothy Leary “I Have America Surrounded” inspired me to dig out this pseudo-lysergic page from the Hewlett & Martin story “I’ve got Friends at Bell’s End” (the Worthing gang’s version of “One flew over The Cuckoo’s Nest”?) and turn it into a poster. Comes with two mini versions of the controversial Penis and Vagina designs on cute little 25mm badge/buttons.
Lastly, we have signed boxsets and single volumes of the new edition of Tank Girl Colour Classics, all now dressed in their lovely fresh matt laminate covers (note - these books and boxsets are available, unsigned, from your usual book and comic dealers).
The store will be closing on Sunday 22nd December for our seasonal hols, last mail outs on Monday 23rd, and we’ll be open again in January for more farting about.
That’s all folks!
Back soon with some news for the new year.
All the love, all the good stuff, take care y’all,
Alan XXX
