I’m sorry but our generalissimo Alan Martin has done nothing but carry the torch and indulge us fans while whole heartedly for years. ‘The writers “the big bad” they have to mean Hero right?. I love Margot and if anyone could pull off Tank Girl it would be her. She even looks like the drawings for the most part. My concerns are....
* Making the series and involving the original creators is crucial, Tank Girl was your vision and therefore it should stay that way. Plus if Margot is truly a big fan why wouldn't she consider this?
* She would have to find a way to differentiate Rebecca Buck as her own character and not turn it into just another Harley Quinn role. It has to be Tank Girl as we know her and nothing else. They can't desensitize her either. Not sure if this generation could handle the real Tank Girl 😆
* Lori Petty would have to make a cameo of some sort (despite your mixed feelings about the 90's movie version it is one of my cult classic faves. I was a teenager when it came out and back then soundtracks were important and this one did not disappoint).
* It will really have to do Tank Girl some damn good justice cause I am so sick of reboots and remakes
Hewley is either a joke or a real odd display of basic homework not being done. If its basic homework not being done then this whole 'We've loved your shit for so long' vibe is pretty off the mark.
The inclusion of the Harley Quinn picture's diabolical, I'm already writing to my MP about this.
If this is from a few years back I'm wondering if it will ever be made. Amazon has had a few big money failures recently and that may make them shy off of what would have to be a show with a substantial budget and a loyal but not enormous fan base. On the other hand, Margot Robbie does seem rather driven in getting as many iconic roles to hang on her wall so... I think what I'm saying is that I have no idea how any of this works and I'm a bit anxious/saddened that we may finally end up with Tank Girl on screen once again in a disappointing mess that misses the whole point.
The entertainment/money machine is ruining everything I enjoyed from my youth. It is exploitation and in the interest of money, no other. Ultimately it's entitlement and a lack of creativity. Not on board with a series and disgruntled with the fact that the very things I enjoyed that were anti-system are being chewed up, digested, and spit back to me by the system becoming now a part of the script I'm supposed to follow.
Are we just ignoring the direct quote from the panel that became the emergency special poster?
Along with the amazing levels of irony at play, it feels like it should be a copyright infringement for them to use it in their pitch materials. My understanding is you signed away the right make film & tv media in perpetuity, not the rights to every word you write in the TG world until the end of time. They can’t reprint 21st Century Tank Girl and say it’s promo material for their streaming show right?
I can see a reality where the whole writers are the big bad plot is handled really well and says something deep and meaningful about the state of our society. I just don’t think we’re living in it, because it would take a serious amount of self awareness to properly understand you are in turn casting yourself in the exact same role in someone’s real fucking life right? “It’s nth wave feminism” only gets you so far…

Im sure its clear but no one no one is saying it - that story description is the Barbie movie. Particularly the evil all male board of Matel,but other parts too. Either they switched the pitch from one project to another or someone has faked their promotion stuff
