Welcome back Alan!! I have to say those are not only gorgeous typewriters but the environment you have to write in looks cosy! 🤟💚

Cheers Luke. Hope you are all well and happy over there. I have typewriters positioned in strategic places all over the house now! One in the lounge, one in the shed, one in the loft...

I really loved reading this Alan. Ans the typewriters look amazing. I might have to make a purchase for myself next payday and see if it inspires me to get writing again! Xx

Absolutely brilliant idea. These past 5 years have been brutal. Well, not great since 2016, really.

I’m a fan of the idea of the burnal.

FROM THE HELL SCAPE THAT IS WHERE I LIVE NOW . . . Fantastic email and news Alan! You made my day and possibly my week maybe until the end of time. Found a brilliant used typewriter store near me and am going tomorrow. YOU REMINDED ME of all the good, good, honest bits and pieces of my old typewriter and gosh, why the hell did I ever stray!?! LOVE the poster, LOVE my new WW2 flight suit I just finished stitching patches (TANK GIRL PATCHES NATCH) on. And hey, if you ever want some ideas for an older Tank Girl-I am still kicking. YEP! OLD as I am. You'll get there too someday! haha! thank you thank you. QUESTION AUTHORITY AND LOVE ALWAYS!!!

I love the idea of the ‘burnal,’ so freeing! I too had been in a terrible creative funk since lockdown. Loads of people seemed to accelerate their creativity during that time, but for me, it’s was like moving through sludge. I’m really sorry you’ve had so many life issues, glad you’ve managed to unlock your writing again. A few things that helped me were to think of the process as play, to attach less importance to output and follow the random without worrying where it was/is taking me. I’ve got three old typewriters that used to belong to my lovely grandma, might just try them out. Looking forward to your next creation xx

Welcome back! Working through a creative block is always an... interesting, if not frustrating, experience. I remember I had a small plastic typewriter I got one Christmas in elementary school. I'm not sure if I asked for it or if my parents thought giving me a typewriter would shut me up, but it was fun. Hope you're having some fun too!

I love those toy typewriters, I'm "toying" with the idea of getting one. Although I fear that I may break it with my angry keystrokes!

Yeesss; Finally someone else who uses the "write-a-to-do-list-then-rip-it-up" method

I don't know why, but I've put a bid in for an Olivetti Lettera 32 (via a commercial 4 letter bidding site). Fingers crossed everyone please. I haven't typed on one of these noisy things since the 80's.

The Lettera 32 is a great typewriter. Inside it is identical to the Lettera DL (pictured in the post). Hope you win, let us know!
